Why do the Gap/Banana Republic/Piperlime/Old Navy sites suck so bad? These are some of the biggest most profitable stores in the country!
I'm Deanna, by the way. I'll introduce myself properly when I get a minute.

I wonder if they have their own embedded web team. I don't have a big issue with their site, I found it easily navigable. The visual aesthetics on the the other hand ... eh. I kind of expect it from a big corporation like that though.
What are some examples of of e-commerce(ish) type sites that you really like? I dig all the SkinnyCorp sites ... especially the rollovers on http://www.typetees.com/
Wow, I was just admiring those rollovers yesterday...even looked at the source & junk. crazy!!
I think Pottery Barn has done a nice job with their ecommerce. Also Horchow, which might actually be owned by the same people. I'm not sure. Crate & Barrel is nice too.
And as odd as it sounds...Sears.com is very good. I've ordered a dryer online with them, set up delivery, had delivery confirmed via an automated phone system narrowing down my delivery time, the guys came right on time then it was followed up with an email asking how they did. It was hands down the best online buying experience I've ever had & I told them so...via email. hahaaa! Anything I can do to having to actually TALK on the phone. ICK!
Ecommerce is pricey to do right but it's worth the investment.
Was that some sort of hint that I should actually check that twitter stuff? I hadn't seen this site, thanks. I love ecommerce done right. It really is a hard thing to find.
nope, just shameless self promotion.
