Anyone want to talk about Adobe AIR or Flash/ActionScript in general in October?

Maybe an intro to SEO?

Definitely open to suggestions, and I'd like to keep having these meetings though we haven't had anything going on this month or last.

So I was reflecting last night on appropriate implementations of Flash. It has been my experience that many people in the marketing world have no idea what Flash is, but seem hell-bent on the idea that they have to use it on whatever brand they are working on.

I have really enjoyed working with Flash using Actionscript 3 over the past few months and would like to continue to find reasons to use it, but it seems that from an animation standpoint, javascript (especially facilitated by jQuery) can pull off most anything in the animation department except maybe the 3D stuff you get from libraries like Papervision. Plus, javascript enhances the process if the site is marked up properly and can provide an unobtrusive and accessible experience that Flash doesn't seem to pull off.

I am thinking the best uses of flash are either making a full-fledged cartoon or building some kind of video interface. But I guess there is also the distinction between utilizing the flash authoring tool to make a website and making a pure actionscript-based application.

I think someone should develop a process to determine whether or not Flash is a good solution for a project. Or maybe they already have? What are some cool implementation of Flash that you've seen? Obviously, thefwa.com is a good start.

i've been meaning to do this for a while. This was the first website I ever built:
http://budnikas.com/v_1999/

I'm still pretty proud of it. Although I did notice that I updated it way too long before redesigning it. Also, this frigging html version: http://budnikas.com/v_1999/version2.html .... i don't even remember making that. I looked at it, and was like, did I do that....? Why...? When....? dot dot dot, weird. share yours if you have them online or can dig them up off of a Syquest drive or zip disk.
