And it's nice to be in a place where I'm the only Debbie. At my church, I'm Debbie No. 7..... Anyway - Hello! I'm an unemployed/job-seeking Business Analyst - happiest when I'm at the very front of things, telling the client they probably don't understand their requirements well enough to know - for sure - that a website is indeed what they need. I'm also a project manager, and a million years ago I did a lot of Informix 4gl. I worked with the guys doing the web development, never learned the tools myself. I've been in Louisville (my elderly parents are here) since 2007.

Reasons for my interest in Refresh Louisville - Mission Data is my fantasy Ideal Employer. Like that will happen, right? Then, Back in England, I got into a Special Interest Group of the British Computer Soc. where everyone was right in the front of software development. I got a taste for learning the newest stuff, and you all seem to know it! And I like BBC beer.

Other things I do - usher at Actors, go to Kentucky Homefront, Bats games when my friend gives me her spare ticket. Make soap. Walk my Chihuahua.

Hey everyone, I'm Scott Hack. I'm a Realtor with RE/MAX Properties East. I've always tinkered with technology. I ran a 2 line BBS in my parent's basement in high school. I've built my last 2 pcs from components. I got into web development after entering the real estate field. The National Association of Realtors claims that over 80% of consumers start their search on the internet now. So being a geek at heart, I decided to build my own sites since I had a lot more time then money. I've gotten decent at manipulating and working with Wordpress based sites. I've been building out sites for different niches to increase my SERPs for those keywords.

Hello everyone,

My name is Aaron Boeving and I'm a web designer and part-owner of Clear Function a small website design and development company. I've been designing websites and web applications for various clients for 9 some odd years now.

I'm married with 2 kids, both under the age of 3 and both girls. They keep us pretty busy! :)

I'm fairly new to the Louisville area as we moved here from Memphis, TN in August of 2008 so that I could attend Southern Seminary.

I was glad to see this group formed and I enjoyed the meeting this evening (March 24) and meeting some of you.

Thanks,

Hello!

I had a great time last night at the meetup, so I figured I should introduce myself... I currently work with Thommy Browne, and some other great folks, at the Presbyterian Center downtown. I am primarily a print designer at my job, but dabble in web design in some of my freelance work.

I attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati, where I received a BFA in Communication Arts, Graphic Design. After I graduated, I had a much greater appreciation for Louisville and came straight back. In town, I have worked for Actors Theatre, a mortgage company, and now the Presbyterians doing a variety of print work ranging from banner displays, newsletters, brochures, logos, etc...

In my free time, I like going to local music shows, staying active at the gym or in a yoga studio, and watching things that are funny. Also friends and beer.

In my quest to learn more about web design and interactivity, I have begun taking some online classes at SCAD. It has mainly focused on Flash and ActionScript. I made my first little interactive game last quarter -- I plan to upload it soon if anyone is interested...

To see some of my work, you can check out: http://www.shellee.com -- a VERY quick and dirty site I created a while ago to house my PDF portfolio and resume. I also recently launched my friends website: http://www.graceballard.com

As a newbie, I'm excited to be a part of this group and learning more.

Thanks!

Hi everybody! I just came across this site today and think it's a fantastic idea!

I am an artist and print designer at heart, but recently have taken a more serious interest in Web Design. Everything I know about the Web has been pretty much self-taught (with the exception of @aboveaveragejoe's help, thanks Joe!). I've worked in advertising here in town for about 5 years now. Currently I'm an Art Director at Finelight.

In my free time I try to stay involved in the local art scene as much as possible. I'm part of a collaboration that curates and produces local underground art exhibits in alternative spaces, helping to expose Louisville's hidden talent. Lately, I've been running a lot, just bought a motorcycle and debating on whether it's time to finally get a dog.

I actually just completed my first website! Yes, I know, it's hard to believe...but please check it out if you have the time. I'd love to hear what you guys think.

robbydavis.com

I look forward to meeting all of you and learning along the way. I'm excited to see what Refresh Louisville can do!
