<description>&#60;p&#62;After way too many months and never finding enough time to get to work on it, we finally launched the new version of missiondata.com I've been talking about for the past 9 months. Still a lot to do, mainly in the form of a little less text and some more visuals to communicate ideas, but it's worlds above where our site was 2 days ago.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Have a look and would love to get feedback from others.&#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;I am interested in the dichotomy of websites designed with focus mostly on information being delivered in the most intuitive manner opposed to sites that are designed to engage the user in a discovery. To better illustrate this division you may look at 37 signals &#60;a href=&#34;http://www.37signals.com/papers/introtopatterns/&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://www.37signals.com/papers/introtopatterns/&#60;/a&#62; paper discussing the method to discover &#34;chunks&#34; positioning, relationships, and relevance or consider the idea of designing from the epicenter(most important element) of the page outward. Then look at &#60;a href=&#34;http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/rooms_ideas/ckl/default.html&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/rooms_ideas/ckl/default.html&#60;/a&#62; or &#60;a href=&#34;http://archive.bigspaceship.com/hbovoyeur/&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://archive.bigspaceship.com/hbovoyeur/&#60;/a&#62; and relate the methodology to the UI design in these two motion graphics experiences. I feel like there are some ideas that have been utilized in both, but I think the UI of motion graphics often attempts to break the rules in creative ways while UI for web software applications and content-driven sites tries to homogenize UI design for ease of use. Both seem to have benefits and a slightly different/somewhat over-lapping place in the arena of web design. I'd love to know what anyone else thinks about this.

&#60;p&#62;I was actually pretty impressed with this site design (and admittedly pretty shocked by that). Any clues among Refreshers as to who designed it? Can't seem to locate a credit anywhere on the site(s)...curious to see the rest of their work, as well.

<title>Thommy on "Newsletter design ... anyone? Anyone?"</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;At my day job there has been a big push in my work in the area of newsletter design and I wanted to ask you all what your experience has been with it. A lot of our in-house clients have been promoting extra commitment opportunities (asking for money) so most of the newsletters are more like point of purchase ads (graphic heavy), while other's are more about sharing stories and promoting events (text heavy). &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Do you design ongoing newsletters? What tool are you using to send them out? Are you using inline styles? What are your best practices?

<title>Todd Budnikas on "One Web: Mobile = desktop"</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;I really enjoyed this article and the view of &#60;em&#62;One Web&#60;/em&#62;. I like the concept of designing with more of a mobile design approach and not bloating design just because it's on a wider screen on a desktop/laptop. However, as Cameron Moll points out in his &#60;a href=&#34;http://mobilewebbook.com/&#34;&#62;book on Mobile Web Design&#60;/a&#62; the experience that a user goes through when using a mobile device differs greatly from that of the desktop experience, and these considerations should be part of the design process. I'm paraphrasing of course. So I'm left a bit conflicted and a lot intrigued. Got some thinking to do.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;A good read: &#60;a href=&#34;http://resources.zdnet.co.uk/articles/comment/0,1000002985,39621546-2,00.htm&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://resources.zdnet.co.uk/articles/comment/0,1000002985,39621546-2,00.htm&#60;/a&#62;

<title>diggum on "Wireframing"</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;How are you wireframing? &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I've gone at it from various directions, from pencil &#38;#38; paper to whipping them up in photoshop to doing functional click through wireframes in xhtml. It has really depended on the complexity of the project.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I've been looking at &#60;a href=&#34;http://konigi.com/tools/omnigraffle-wireframe-stencils&#34;&#62;OmniGraffle&#60;/a&#62; (which I thought was Omni&#60;strong&#62;GIRAFFE&#60;/strong&#62; up until just this moment). Anyone have experience with this and opinions of it's value in comparison to the aforementioned methods?
